What is the Hero A2B Electric Cycle?

Hero Electric is primarily known for its low-range electric scooters, such as the Hero Optima and Hero Atria. These scooters are lightweight and best suited for short city rides.

According to media reports, Hero Electric is planning to launch the e-ycle in India. It is expected to come with modern features and a stylish design, making it more than just a basic ride.

Expected Launch Date in India

According to media reports, the Hero A2B electric cycle is expected to launch in August 2025. However, as of the time of publishing this blog post, Hero Electric has not made any official announcement regarding the launch.

It's challenging to determine the expected launch date, as my research has not found any official sources to confirm the exact launch date.

According to media reports, the expected price of the Hero A2B electric cycle in India is around ₹35,000. If this turns out to be accurate, it could be one of the more affordable options in the e-cycle segment.

Many other e-cycle brands in the Indian market already offer a good balance between quality and affordability. So, if the Hero A2B is priced too high, it may face tough competition.

Design and Build Quality

The design of the Hero A2B is simple and almost resembles a regular bicycle, but its color scheme and finish give it a unique appeal is good for balancing between style and simplicity.

The aluminium frame adds both strength and lightness, making it a nice blend of durability and comfort.

Who Should Buy the Hero A2B Electric Cycle?

If the price stays around ₹35,000, as media reports suggest, the Hero A2B e-cycle could attract a wide range of buyers. At this price point, it becomes a reasonable choice for students, office commuters, delivery riders, and even those who just enjoy cycling for leisure

Showroom & Availability

To reach more customers, Hero Electric is likely to make the A2B electric cycle available in showrooms across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities.

And to cover the market nationwide, it will also be sold online — a move that’s crucial for staying competitive and maintaining a strong presence in the e-cycle segment.

The online purchase is good, but I suggest you consider purchasing from the showroom instead because you can check all the specifications and features physically, while it's best for further maintenance service and spare part availability.

Registration/License

As per Indian traffic rules, electric vehicles with a 250-watt motor and a top speed of up to 25 km/h do not require an RTO license or registration

Most existing e-cycle brands follow these norms. However, according to media reports, the Hero A2B electric cycle may come with a 500-watt motor and a top speed of around 45 km/h. If this is true, it will require a valid license and registration to ride legally on Indian roads.

The Untold Reality of the A2B

If you think the Hero A2B Electric cycle will be a brand-new name in the e-cycle segment, you might be surprised — it’s not new at all.

The A2B brand has been around for over 10 years. Popular news media never told the complete reality, but here, you’re getting the full truth.

During my research, I came across a 2014 blog article on the popular tech website TechCrunch, which featured the A2B electric cycle.

According to the article, the model was originally made by a German company called Hero Eco back in 2014.

That same article included a YouTube video showing the actual riding experience and full specifications.

I also found several other videos on YouTube, some posted 5 or even 7 years ago. So, while the A2B is currently trending in the Indian market, it’s an established name in the global e-cycle space.

HeroMotorCorp vs Hero Electric:

One important fact I want to make clear — Hero Electric and Hero MotoCorp are two completely different companies.

Hero MotoCorp is a well-known brand in India for bikes like the Splendor and Passion, as well as the Vida electric scooter.

Hero Electric, on the other hand, is known for its low-range electric scooters with smaller motors and more affordable pricing.

I’m pointing this out because many people assume the Hero A2B electric cycle is from Hero MotoCorp, which is not the case.

Not found any Official announcement:

As reported in the news media that the launch date is around August 2025. However, I didn't find any official announcement made by Hero Electric.

But during my research, I've found one more report from popular news media from 2023, which Hero Electric is tying up with the UK-based A2B e-bike company for launching an e-cycle in India.

I didn't call these reports baseless, but without an official statement, it’s difficult to confirm the exact launch date at this point.

Final Thoughts: Is Hero A2B Worth Buying?

I've tried to cover all the information about Hero A2B Electric Cycle Price in India, Launch Date & Features.

However, the most important part I've covered is, my research found facts that most news media didn’t mention in their reports.

With a stylish yet simple design, lightweight frame, and potential nationwide availability, it could be a strong contender if the price remains reasonable.
